Internal project for Evolver.

Customer Challenge/Need:

Evolver won a large educational services contract to support The Army Continuing Education System (ACES) mission at 29 locations across the world. Over 200 full-time and part-time employees performed a variety of duties with varying pay rates under the Service Contract Act (SCA) at each site. In addition, every month the hours performed needed to be reconciled with hours ordered on applicable task orders. Evolver’s current payroll provider and timesheet process could not accommodate these specific attributes efficiently.

Evolver Solution:

Evolver created a web-based timesheet application using ASP.net and SQL server technology. The online system allowed employees to log in, select the appropriate work day and work package(s), and allocate their hours. Supervisors could log in and view a variety of real-time status reports on their employees to ensure compliance with timesheet procedures and timeliness. The application supported multiple user levels from employees to supervisors to power users and management. It provided real time reporting and logging that allowed managers to view employees’ time, log-ins, change history, and more. The application also had the ability to export reports in either excel or pdf format which facilitated integration with third party payroll vendors. The application also utilized a dynamic splash screen where administrators could post messages and announcements to employees when they logged in.

Evolver was able to develop a robust and flexible web-based application that exceeded original functionality and expectations. The solution was developed following standard software development life-cycle processes and rapid application development principles. The results were also outstanding as our timesheet reconciliation process was reduced from 3 days to approximately 3 hours. Now that’s progress! That’s Evolver!
