Evolver is pleased to announce that Doug Barbee has joined its senior management team. Barbee is a 25 year veteran of government consulting who has served at the CXO level of several organizations in the DC metro area. At Evolver, he will provide leadership on corporate strategy and direction as well as strengthen and manage our growing business development department.
Before joining Evolver, Mr. Barbee provided management and systems engineering support for several federal and commercial clients while at CorTechs, Johnston McLamb, and other consulting and systems integration firms. In his role as corporate vice president of CorTechs, he was responsible for directing Business Development, Sales & Marketing, Contracts, Account Management, Program Management and Financials for the company. He was instrumental in leading the transition of the company from a technology based consulting services provider to an IT Solutions provider, achieving record growth at the company. He also provided corporate management oversight to numerous contracts involving application systems development, infrastructure support, architecture design, IV&V, performance analysis, and database design efforts for government (State and Federal) and commercial clients.
Barbee earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering & Operations Research from Virginia Tech in 1982, and began his career as an engineer with General Electric and CONTEL. He was a recognized expert in the use of information engineering CASE tools before his transition into business management roles for small IT firms. Barbee currently resides with his wife and 3 children in Oak Hill, Virginia.
